Room Set Photography With Whitemeadow
Whitemeadow, a UK leading upholstery manufacturer, approached us to photograph their Nest sofa range.
We created a room set with a sense of calm to capture four of Whitemeadow's wonderful sofas in various layouts.
The Brief
Whitemeadow asked us to create a contemporary set to shoot four sofa styles from their Nest range. The project asked for both landscape and portrait images to provide various options for Whitemeadow's image library.
This particular range is all about blending beauty and function with the modern family in mind. The timeless style and universal appeal is something we aimed to carry through into the images of these wonderful pieces.
We have shot for Whitemeadow on previous occasions and couldn't wait to get started with this shoot.
The Room Set
Our in-house set build team started work on contsructing the contemporary styled room. The set needed to house the large sofas comfortably, which meant the set had to stretch up to the 6m mark.
The lighting style aimed to create a daylight scene, so we built a large window to let in the light and show off the products.
When building the set, our team paid close attention to every detail to create an aspirational feel to the final images. The little details all contribute to the lifestyle feel to the images.
Styling The Set
We brought in interior stylist Alexandra Chrapkowski to work on the shoot. With a selection of props to choose from, Alex set out to complement the room set and products.
The aim was to create a calm, serene space with lots of natural light; with the neutral and earthy colour palette radiating a soothing atmosphere. The gentle textures invite relaxation and tranquillity and the subtle propping enhances the lifestyle, natural feel of the room rather than distract from the product.
The Shoot
The four sofa styles were shot over two and a half days. Paul Lambert took the reins on this one, having worked on Whitemeadow's briefs previously.
Paul took a combination of landscape and portrait shots - using a step ladder to capture a high angle shot, perfect for use on social media.
A specific lighting set up was required to get strong directional light through the windows and across the set to create a sunny day aesthetic.
Go Behind-The-Scenes
Our Director Will joined photographer Paul on set. Watch Will show the details of the room, and discuss how we achieved the sunlight effect through the windows of the set.
The shoot went brilliantly – the team were professional, creative and successfully captured the essence of our brief. We’re thrilled with the final images and it’s always exciting to share them with both our customers and the team at Whitemeadow HQ.
Final Images
The images from the shoot will provide marketing material for years to come for Whitemeadow and their retailers. The diversity of images work well for a range of digital platforms as well as print materials.
