Breaking The Mould With The Work Uniform Company
We were approached by The Work Uniform Company with a brief that was simple; improve the conversion rate of our website with better images.
The Work Uniform Company is a leading UK supplier of staff uniforms across multiple sectors including healthcare, dental, security, hospitality, and corporate. The family-run business is based in Merseyside, and operate mostly online, with ecommerce crucial to their success.
The Brief
The Work Uniform Company had existing ecommerce model images on their website, but they wanted a modern revamp to help them stand out.
Our production team started planning the shoot. The idea was to generate content that would work on the website all year round, enabling the images to appeal to customers throughout the seasons to capture their buying intent.
The brief also included the production of category images, consisting of 12 different looks in total.
Planning The Shoot
Laura, our Production Manager for this project, set about creating a mood board, and shot list for the one day shoot.
Four models were selected from Face Model Agency. The Work Uniform Company wanted to appeal to a young professional demographic, therefore models were selected that matched up to this.
We created a set that would add a modern style, using moveable blocks to make up the background. This allowed us to mix up the set subtly from image to image whilst saving the client costs and time.
The background elements were painted grey, which would allow us to recolour them in post-production. This added even more variation with some vibrancy that would make the website stand out from the crowd!
Shoot Day
Our photographer on the project was Annie, who did an excellent job at capturing the dynamic looks. The lighting set up was designed to make the most of the background, creating the right level of shadows cast by the background elements whilst making the models 'pop'. Annie was tasked with directing all four models in the wide shots to create the desired look.

Stylist And Hair & Make Up Support
To bring all of the seasonal styles together, fashion stylist Daisy Angharad was brought in to help with the shoot. Daisy picked outfit combinations from The Work Uniform Company’s range, along with appropriate props that aligned with the sectors represented.
We also had Richard Harvey on set to look after hair and makeup throughout the shoot. With four models and a variety of looks to achieve in a day, Richard was put through his paces and did an excellent job.
Keeping To Time
Model shoots are usually under significant time pressure, and this was no different! The variations in the shots, garment styles, and set, all meant that there were a lot of moving parts to keep track of during the day.
Our set builders were on hand to help adjust the background between the different concepts. All the garments were steamed and prepared in the days leading up to the shoot, and every minute was planned to squeeze the most out of the day.
Laura kept the shoot on track to make sure everything was captured. We even added an extra video for The Work Uniform Company to use in their showroom. This was made up of panning shots of the models, with slow transitions to create a professional feel.
There was an energetic atmosphere in the studio all day. Partly created due to the fast-paced turnaround of shots, but also the contribution of everyone involved. This comes through in the final images which achieve a dynamic look – perfect for The Work Uniform Company’s customers.
Post-Production
The main task for our post-production team was to change the background colours to fit each season. This was a balancing act, as any colour straying too far from the original grey made the realism harder to achieve. This was due to the grey reflecting back onto the garments – particularly the white fabrics! However, the team were persistent, and with some skill and a lot of patience, made sure the images looked amazing.
Final Images
With the recolouring completed, the final images were ready. Four website banner images were produced, one representing each season, and eight category images completed the project.
