The Brief
We regularly shoot a range of content for leading carpet and flooring retailer Tapi to show off their fantastic products. This includes lifestyle photography and videography in our room set studio.
Having worked with Tapi since 2020, we understand their requirements from a shoot. The project in March earlier this year was no different, and our set build team worked on a living room scene that would work well for the range of carpets.
The Shoot
As well as the wide angle shot showing how the carpet can be styled in a room, Tapi use a combination of cameo shots, hand modelling, and angles that show the cross section of each carpet. Our photographer Annie captured the range of stills that make up Tapi's product listings. These show close ups of the detail, patterns, and pile, and work well against the wide angle shots which show style and context in a room setting. The lighting was set up to create a daylight scene, with directional light entering through a window built into the set - this helped to show the carpet under variations of direct light and shadowing.
The close up video clips are designed to show the quality of Tapi's products. With the addition of the model, the product comes to life and allows customers to see a more comprehensive view of the carpet.
We brought in Charlie Sherry to style the set, using our prop library to build the lifestyle look. Charlie opted for a minimalist look, allowing the product to draw the eye, with the props adding colour accents and effectively framing the carpets.

There was a lot to get through on this one-day shoot, with multiple set changes and a long shot list to complete.
